President Prabowo Subianto recently met with Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and Deputy Minister of KKP Didit Herdiawan at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta to discuss the issue of unauthorized sea fence construction in Tangerang, Banten Province. The construction, which lacked the necessary permits, is in violation of the regulations outlined in the Job Creation Law. Due to this, the construction has been sealed pending further investigation to determine ownership and legality. President Prabowo has instructed a comprehensive legal examination of the situation, involving collaboration with various parties such as the Indonesian Navy and the Marine Security Agency (Bakamla). The main goal is to ensure adherence to legal procedures and prevent potential adverse impacts like erosion. This proactive approach underscores the government’s dedication to upholding regulations and safeguarding marine resources.
