Prabowo Recalls Receiving Peru’s Highest Honor in 2024

Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia, recently reflected on the honor he received from the Peruvian President, Dina Boluarte, in 2024. The Grand Cross of the Order of the Sun of Peru, the highest award bestowed by the Peruvian government, was presented to him as a tribute to the entire Indonesian nation. This moment was shared by Prabowo during a press statement at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, emphasizing the strong diplomatic relations between the two countries since 1975.

In return, Prabowo bestowed upon Boluarte Indonesia’s highest honor, the Bintang Republik Indonesia Adipurna, acknowledging her significant contributions to fostering bilateral friendship and cooperation. This reciprocal gesture symbolizes the commitment to further strengthening the partnership between Indonesia and Peru in the future.

During Boluarte’s official visit, Indonesia and Peru signed cooperation agreements in various areas such as narcotics eradication, combating illicit trade, food security, mining, energy transition, fisheries, and defense. These agreements underline the efforts of both governments to enhance collaboration and mutual support in key sectors for the benefit of both nations.
