Bentley’s iconic W-12 engine is heading to the junkyard in the sky after over 20 years of production and more than 100,000 12-cylinder vehicles produced. But it won’t go out with a whimper. During Monterey Car Week, Bentley unveiled the new Bacalar Convertible by Mulliner. This new Bacalar is a more stylish version of the already stunning and powerful car.
Packing the ubiquitous 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged Bentley W-12 engine, the Bentley Bacalar Convertible by Mulliner delivers 740 horsepower – the same amount as the standard convertible and coupe models. However, in this case, the 740 horsepower is paired with a unique design made in collaboration with one of Bentley’s clients. The exterior of the Bacalar Convertible features Opalite paint with Beluga and Mandarin accents, including a racing stripe down the center with two smaller accent lines on either side. The interior showcases a ‘one plus one’ design with Beluga black leather and Alcantara on the driver’s side, and Linen white with Alcantara on the passenger side.
The rear trunk features similar Beluga black and Mandarin orange accents, complete with a specially designed two-piece luggage set for this vehicle. Just like the seats, the luggage also uses the Beluga black and Linen white colors – one for the driver, one for the passenger.
The Bacalar Convertible by Mulliner will make its debut next week in California during Monterey Car Week. Of course, Bentley doesn’t have a price tag for its newest Bacalar, which is dubbed as “truly one-off.” Nevertheless, the Bacalar Convertible is likely one of the last Bentleys ever produced with the iconic 12-cylinder engine from this automaker. For that reason alone, we think it’s truly priceless.
